Triple H Talks Attitude Era & Marriage with Stephanie McMahon

Triple H spoke about the Attitude Era during an interview with Forbes.com.
“It’s one of those things — I’ve talked about this with Austin and a little bit with Rock, too — you don’t realize is happening at the time; it’s just what you’re doing,” said Triple H. “We were all so wrapped up in what we were doing, and it was so competitive with each other. It’s only now that I think we can look back and go, ‘Wow. That was a pretty special time, and we shared some pretty special things all together and made history.’ I think at the time you’re doing it, you realize it’s going well, but you’re just so deep in there that you can’t even fathom really what you’re doing. To look back at it now and see all those times, and to watch the video game…when we did the voiceovers to the video game, to go back and watch some of those scenes take place, it’s crazy because you forget what a…that was just another day then.”
When asked what keeps the “fire burning” in his marriage with Stephanie, “What keeps a fire burning? A big log. It keeps the fire burning”, said Triple H.
Stephanie McMahon stated that Triple H “almost defined the Attitude Era.” Triple H discussed his wife watching his matches.
“It’s funny because she knows me so well that she sees the smallest little things in there and when I come back she’ll be like, ‘Then this happened,’” he said. “She knows all the little intricacies of everything we do and knows me so well that she can see it whether I’m hurt or not hurt. She’ll be watching almost more intently than anybody.”

Original Plans for Brock Lesnar and Triple H, Early WM Buyrate News

- It will be a few months before we get an official buyrate for the WrestleMania 29 pay-per-view but F4Wonline.com reports that three different sources this past week stated that very early estimates do not look good. One number being floated around was “downright shocking.” WWE’s own internal projections were lowered substantially in the final week before the pay-per-view based on the Elimination Chamber buys coming in lower than expected.
- Original plans for Brock Lesnar and Triple H had them re-visiting the feud later this year, not doing a third match at Extreme Rules. The planned angle with The Rock and Brock Lesnar for the post-WrestleMania RAW that didn’t happen would have built to a SummerSlam match, not a WrestleMania XXX match as previously reported.
Regarding The Rock, there is a lot of concern, or maybe just paranoia, among people within WWE that he will never wrestle again.

“If he’s ridiculous enough to make a song as stupid as that, he certainly is ridiculous enough to make a bad decision to step in the ring with John Cena anytime, anywhere. I would love for him to be a superstar for a day on WWE and I’d hopefully knock some class into him.”

He worked harder than anyone in the company, the guy was a cornerstone of the Attitude Era. He was the guy of the Attitude Era, the glue that was keeping everything together.”

The Rock & Triple H injured, Other Triple H News, Rob Van Dam & Maria Kanellis Interview, More

- F4WOnline reports The Rock was injured last night at WrestleMania during his match against John Cena which could explain why he isn't at Raw tonight.

Earlier reports noted that The Rock would not appear on Raw tonight as scheduled which come as a surprise to WWE creative who are in the process of rewriting tonight's episode which was to have featured a confrontation between Rock and Brock Lesnar.

- As we saw last night, Triple H during his WrestleMania 29 entrance was covered in a mystery white foam like substance. Prior to his match backstage he doused himself in water and when he walked through the "fog" of his skull entrance, the CO2 gas froze the water on him. Coupled with the lighting, it really stuck out.

- Also to report, Triple H had X-Rays performed on his left arm following his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 29. The result of the X-Ray showed he has a muscle contusion.

- Rob Van Dam:

"The reason that I’ve been really quiet as far as my (TNA) contract goes, the people that really don’t know, really don’t know. The only person that knows is me. I do have plans to return very soon and wrestle on TV, and it won’t be with any (independent) promotions. I will be wrestling with either TNA or WWE very soon."

Maria Kanellis:

"I was one of the girls that they called. We were fine on all the details. I’ve owned my name since I was a little girl, so that wasn’t a problem for me. WWE was totally cool with everything, but the storyline just fell through; I was excited about it."

Jim Ross Blogs on Monday's Raw and Top Matches for WrestleMania 29

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is back with a new blog on jrsbarbq.com, where he talked about the three top WrestleMania 29 matches and Monday's RAW:

- Thought that the final segment of Raw involving Taker and Punk was controversial and dramatic and it made me want to see the match between the two even more. I can certainly see where some viewers were uncomfortable with the presentation but perhaps that was the intent. Mark my words, @CMPunk vs. Undertaker will be tougher than a $2 steak to follow.

- The hay is in the barn for Rock vs. Cena. It;'s been over a year since this rivalry started and Sunday is the time for the talking to end and the show closer to deliver. Following everything on the card and attempting to engage the audience who has been at the stadium for hours is daunting but that comes with the territory. I have every belief that the two men that I signed to WWE contracts will rise to the occasion.

- Thought the addition of HBK in HHH's corner vs. Brock Lesnar was a timely touch and that Paul Heyman was excellent on the mic representing his client. Slobber Knocker time for the Cerebral Assassin and the former WWE and UFC champion without question. This one won't be a Brisco vs. Funk catch as catch can masterpiece but it will be car crash-like. I see some sweet chin music in @HeymanHustle future in
Jersey. Just saying.
