CM Punk & Lita Attending More UFC Events, MMA Veteran Upset

- CM Punk and Lita were in attendance for last night’s UFC on FOX show from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. The couple was seen sitting near the cage with other stars.
Punk attended last weekend’s UFC event also and will be attending the April 27th UFC 159 pay-per-view from New Jersey where his friend Chael Sonnen will take on Jon Jones.
On a related note, MMA veteran Mark Coleman was upset with Punk at last weekend’s UFC event. Because UFC producers decided to show Punk on TV instead of Coleman, Coleman became furious to the point he wanted to attack Punk and start a fight with him. Nothing came of it but the situation on Coleman’s side was serious enough that several people at the event were talking about it.

Dana White Talks Punk & JR, Jerry Lawler & Rick Steiner Appearances

- As noted earlier, Jim Ross met with Dana White this past week. White was asked about the meeting between the two during a UFC on Fox pre-fight press conference. White said that JR was “cool” and a really good guy, and it was the first time that they had met. White also said there wasn’t anything to CM Punk appearing at the UFC event last weekend, and that Punk just attended as a fan. White mentioned that he didn’t approach Brock Lesnar to sign with the UFC, and that Lesnar contacted him.
- Jerry “The King” Lawler is at the Cape Comic Con in Cape Girardeau, MO today until 6PM.
- The DWA presents “Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Night 2013” featuring Rick Steiner at the Schützenhalle in Visselhövede, Germany on May 4th, 2013.

CM Punk on Meeting Dana White, Divas Division, WM29 Attire & More

As noted earlier, CM Punk appeared on The MMA Hour. Here are some highlights.
If WWE is dropping the ball with women’s wrestling: “Are they looking at it like that [as a money maker]? Probably not. Should they be? Yeah probably, maybe. There’s a big difference between what I do and what the fighters do, I have had this discussion many many times, also there’s a lot of similarities. But yeah, the women are red hot right now. You’d think on the pro wrestling side to try and capitalize on that.”
If there was heat for him attending last Saturday’s UFC event: “No. Nobody really talks to me. [laughter] No, I don’t think it’s an issue. I just think that before it was hey let’s do this it’ll be fun it’s in Chicago and for whatever reason he couldn’t stop to it.”
What he discussed with UFC President Dana White: “Just the fights and he was happy that, we always discuss how I can never come out to one of these things [fights]. We just discussed that. He said he was happy that I was finally there and I said you might not be able to get rid of me now.”
If he’s getting paid to wear the Gracie sweatshirt he wore at Wrestlemania: “I just don’t have any other clean clothes. No, I just think people need to know I represent the family and jiu jitsu because I love it and people ask me all the time if I roll or that awful question: do you train bro? Yeah, this is what I do. I guess it’s just me and what I do and I’ve done it before with other friends, my friends that are in bands. I rep the T shirts, I rep them on TV. There’s a lot of eyes on Monday Night RAW every Monday or whatever. I like to expose people to maybe something I feel that they don’t have in their lives that they need in their lives.”

Jim Ross Blogs on Monday's Raw and Top Matches for WrestleMania 29

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is back with a new blog on jrsbarbq.com, where he talked about the three top WrestleMania 29 matches and Monday's RAW:

- Thought that the final segment of Raw involving Taker and Punk was controversial and dramatic and it made me want to see the match between the two even more. I can certainly see where some viewers were uncomfortable with the presentation but perhaps that was the intent. Mark my words, @CMPunk vs. Undertaker will be tougher than a $2 steak to follow.

- The hay is in the barn for Rock vs. Cena. It;'s been over a year since this rivalry started and Sunday is the time for the talking to end and the show closer to deliver. Following everything on the card and attempting to engage the audience who has been at the stadium for hours is daunting but that comes with the territory. I have every belief that the two men that I signed to WWE contracts will rise to the occasion.

- Thought the addition of HBK in HHH's corner vs. Brock Lesnar was a timely touch and that Paul Heyman was excellent on the mic representing his client. Slobber Knocker time for the Cerebral Assassin and the former WWE and UFC champion without question. This one won't be a Brisco vs. Funk catch as catch can masterpiece but it will be car crash-like. I see some sweet chin music in @HeymanHustle future in
Jersey. Just saying.

Dana White Reveals that Vince Wanted to Fight Him

UFC President Dana White, who has drawn many comparisons to Vince McMahon, revealed in an interview Friday night on Canadian French sports network RDS that the WWE promoter had once proposed that they fight.

While being interviewed by former NHL player Denis Gauthier, Jr., whose wife is the sister of former WWE wrestlers Jacques and Raymond Rougeau, Gauthier jokingly asked White who would reign supreme if he were to be locked up inside a steel cage with McMahon. The UFC figurehead revealed that the fantasy duel could have become a reality.

"Let me tell you something, and I've never said this before ever in any interview anywhere. If Vince hear's this, he's going to go nuts. Vince is too old, which he won't think he is, and he'll go crazy. And he wanted to [fight] one time," remarked White.

"Vince wanted to fight me. Swear to God. Called me up and said, "Let's do it." We can either do it in the UFC, or let's do it at WrestleMania. And I said, "You are crazy."

White noted of the 67-year-old: "I always have said it, and I'll say it again; I respect Vince very much. But Vince is too old to be fighting anybody."

According to Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, McMahon had proposed that White fight him at the 2011 pay-per-view event WrestleMania XXVII. It was the WWE chief's idea of a double main-event match—the other being John Cena vs. The Miz for the WWE Championship.
